+Since I joined the army, I've had a somewhat privileged position. As someone who can heal using both mundane and magical means, I'm in slightly higher demand than the average soldier. However, it's been made clear to me that I, like everyone else, am expendable and replaceable. In the end, I'm one soldier among thousands, so why have some people put so much effort into protecting me? I restored Federov to his half-life. When he got into a fight, I explained his purpose to him and thought he was convinced. I left him alone under minimal guard, and that only at the urging of Hanarah. When he snuck out and murdered a soldier who had mildly offended him, it was no one's fault but mine. And yet, when I tried to take responsibility for my actions in front of Captain Finkel, Tefna silenced me, and Lieutenant Alexandra hurried me out of the room. Why?
 +
+I couldn't sleep, so I spent last night whittling. It came out looking like an elongated fish with a hole that goes through from one eye to the other. Working with my hands always calms my spirit. It has ever since I was a child, when I spent long hours repairing and polishing the neglected shrine to Vil.
 +
+An evil act was committed. A man was murdered for doing nothing more than trying to trip Federov in the mess tent. Maybe someday I can redeem myself -- I have the remainder of my life to do so. But Federov can't, not if he's imprisoned indefinitely, or executed as he almost certainly will be. If we get back from this mission in time, I'll argue on his behalf. Since I removed most of his free will (though means I don't fully understand), he's been rendered harmless, so maybe through service, carrying things, delivering messages, assisting in the hospital tent if they'll let him, he can be saved. It will take a long time, a year, two years, five, before he can make up for a life of wicked deeds through menial service, but it might work. I have to hope. Alexandra seems open to the idea. Maybe she helps me because she understands the value of what I'm doing. Maybe she sees that these wicked people's souls deserve a second chance. Or maybe she just hopes that I can raise fallen soldiers in battle. This I won't do, not if they are generally good people at least.
 +
+Perhaps I should just focus on the mission. I have other things to worry about anyway, like what to do about Sheshar and Breadguy. The first was an accident, and the second compelled on threat of death, but I don't believe either one needed saving. I looked into their past, and these were ordinary people, who committed deeds both good and bad but balanced their ledgers in the end. Vil would have accepted them, and allowed them to pass. Now they're trapped in this state of undeath. I can't kill them without risking my own soul, but every day they remain alive is a delay of the beyond. I have to find a solution.

 +====Detailed summary by Hanah'rah====
 +
 +EXT. 6th Battalion Camp. DAY
 +
 +Dusk.
 +
+Caidis is with his 3-dead-man entourage of Breadguy, Shee-shar, and Fetterov.
 +
+Caidis pats Fetterov on the back and tells him he has big plans for him. Caidis asks Frardar if he knows when we're shipping out next. Frardar says tomorrow. The 6th Battalion will be the leading edge, scouting as usual.
 +
+Hana'rah sees Caidis with this crew. She asks him about the new one. Caidis explains he is a new project that he feels he can help finish his business with Vil. Hana'rah looks Fetterov over. She says something condescending about and Fetterov seems to respond. She asks him if he understands her. He says yes. This surprises everyone, especially Caidis. Hana'rah asks why he's been reaminated. He says, "Ask him", indicating Caidis.
 +
+Duri calls everyone to come over to the food tent for dinner.
 +
 +INT. MESS TENT. DAY
 +
+At the table, Fetterov announces that he wants to go visit some friends. Caidis lets him. Tephna reaches out to read Fetterov's mind. She can tell he's sizing up all the people he used to know for the debt's and vendetta's he owes. Tephna tells Caidis he probably shouldn't let him wander around.
 +
+Caidis recalls Fetterov, as he's walking back, a soldier intentionally bumps into him. They stand starring at each other for a few seconds before Fetterov grabs a knife off a table and stabs the other guy. A brawl breaks out. Caidis runs over to disrupt things. As Caidis arrives, two soldiers are holding Fetterov back as he tries to stab again. Caidis calms things down and heals the wounded soldier.
 +
+Gorbis comes running over to assess the situation. He asks what Fetterov is. Caids says "Fetterov". Gorbis tells everyone to get back to their business.
 +
+Caidis gets him to sit down at the table with us. Fetterov keeps scanning the room. Caidis tries to make small talk. He asks him if he knows why he brought him back. Fetterov does not. He tells him that he believes he can do good in this world. Fetterov notices Breadguy and Cpt. Shee-shar beside him and asks if they're the same as him. Caidis explains no, he thinks they were just accidents. He hasn't figured what to do with them yet.
 +
+Gorbis arrives. He says there's good news and bad news. Good news: we're leading the scouting party. We're moving out tomorrow morning at dawn. The bad news is Gorbis will no longer be our brigade sergeant. We'll be under SERGEANT RORSCHACH. Gorbis turns and leaves with a cheerful look in his eyes.
 +
 +EXT. CAMP. DAY
 +
+As everyone is leaving the tent, they see Lt. Alexandra standing with SGT. RORSCHACH. He has long brown hair and intelligent eyes.
 +
+He asks why we have a Kreegarian in our ranks and why he looks so strange. He examines the other two undead/ab-living.
 +
 +INT. BRIEFING TENT. DAY
 +
+Lt. Alexandra speaks to the platoon. She introduces the platoon to Sgt. Rorchach.
 +
+The platoon is going to be heading due west and venture into enemy territory. This will be the first force of this size to cross enemy lines. She says we will be assessing supply lines and monitoring enemy movements and report back to base often.
 +
+The platoon will be split into four squads. She looks at Caidis and says she doesn't know how his three followers will fit into this, but she asks Caidis to mind them.
 +
+Everyone is going to need to pack everything they need, with a second pack with two weeks of rations. She leaves. Sgt. Rorchach steps forward.
 +
+He tells us he has a different management style than Sgt. Gorbis.
 +
+Tephna asks if we're going to get some sort of Kreegarian primer before the mission. Rorchach says he'll try to find a phrase book. He leaves.
 +
+Caidis tries to strike up a conversation with Fetterov. He asks him if he has any memory between his death and being reanimated. Fetterov just shakes his head and says "blackness".
 +
+Hana'rah suggests to Caidis that he should bind Fetterov through the night. Caidis, instead, asks Breadguy to keep watch over him.
 +
 +INT. SLEEP TENT. NIGHT
 +
+Fetterov, pretending to sleep, wiggles slowly from his fake sleeping position toward the door of the tent.
 +
+Later, Caidis is awakened by Breadguy's shaking. Breadguy points to where Fetterov had been laying. He's gone.
 +
+Caidis gets up to investigate. Hana'rah awakens and sees Caidis looking around the tent and asks if "he's gone". Caidis insists he's sure it's nothing. He leaves the tent. Hana'rah follows.
 +
 +EXT. BATTALION CAMP. NIGHT
 +
+Caidis asks some wandering guards if they've seen Fetterov. They haven't.
 +
+Hana'rah can sense Fetterov's evil in the distance. She sneaks off.
 +
 +INT. SMALL TENT. NIGHT
 +
+Hana'rah enters a small, four person tent, and sees Fetterov rolling around on the ground with another soldier, stabbing him repeatedly.
 +
+Hana'rah kicks the knife from his hand. Fetterov starts strangling the other soldier. She picks up a sword from a bunk and hacks off Fetterov's right arm. He continues strangling with his left. The soldier on the ground appears to be dead.
 +
+Hana'rah had tossed her torch to the side as she entered the tent. It has ignited the tent. Caidis comes running in, having seen the flames.
 +
+He commands Fetterov to stop. Fetterov does immediately and stands up. The corpse on the ground is the soldier that bumped into Fetterov in the mess tent earlier.
 +
+Two sentries come running in, also noticing the flames. They tell everyone to put their hands up.
 +
+Caidis ignores the sentries, and reaches up to Fetterov and tries to magically deprive him of his free will. With much effort, it succeeds. He feels a great deal of regret as it works. Fetterov appears to look like Breadguy and Shee-shar afterwards.
 +
+The sentries start blowing thier whistles to call in more sentries.
 +
 + INT. SLEEPING TENT. NIGHT
 +
+Tephna wakes from the whisling and sees Caidis, Tephna, and Hana'rah are gone.
 +
+She and Frardar and others go out in search of the commotion.
 +
 +INT. MILITARY POLICE TENT. NIGHT
 +
+The sentries bring Caidis, Hana'rah, and Fetterov into the military police tent. They wake up the C/O, it's Cpt. Fraenkel from Intelligence.
 +
+Caidis explains the situation and takes blame for the soldier's death. Tephna enters just prior and tries to reframe the situation.
 +
+Cpt. Fraenkel raises his hand to Fetterov's face and reads him. Tephna and Hana'rah can tell that Fraenkel is very powerful. Fraenkel can tell that Fetterov was recently raised from the dead but no longer has his faculties. Fraenkel looks over everyone again and realizes he recognizes Caidis, Hana'rah, and Tephna from the other night.
 +
+Lt. Alexandra bursts in. She insists that her troops were not responsible for this incident. Says we'll turn in the perpetrator and write statements in the morning. Fetterov is taken into custody and Lt. Alexandra looks at the three PCs sternly and tells them to come with her.
 +
 +EXT. CAMP. NIGHT
 +
+Lt. Alexandra scolds the three for the commotion. Caidis feels guilty for the soldiers death and insists he should be punished. Lt. Alexandra won't hear it. Tephna tells him he doesn't have to fall on his own swords, as there's never a shortage of other people trying to push you on it. Hana'rah tells him he's guilty of only recklessness, and she hopes he's learned his lesson.
 +
 +INT. SLEEPING TENT. NIGHT
 +
+Hana'rah wakes Ibrahim and sends him on a secret mission back to the Namadi Badlands to get some old tomes from her collection.
 +
 +EXT. OUTSIDE BATTALION CAMP. DAY
 +
+Sgt. Rorschach arrives with some Kreegarian phrase books. The platoon rides out on horseback for a few hours. Later, they stop for breakfast.
 +
+Sgt. Rorchach sends Tephna and Thali to go up a hill to scout.
 +
+Up the hill, Lt. Alexandra descends from the sky and lands next to Thali and Tephna. Lt. Alexandra pulls out her own meal and starts eating in silence.
 +
+Lt. Alexandra asks Tephna where she received her training. Tephna says "Azrael, or 'Azi'". She explains that he was her psionics tutor when she was younger. Lt. Alexandra makes a solid blade out of light in her hand, and she asks Tephna if she learned how to do this. Tephna explains no, "drafting" never worked for her.
 +
+Lt. Alexandra then lifts a basketball-sized rock from the ground telekinetically. She gestures to Tephna to take hold. Tephna takes control of it telekinetically and holds it aloft, then lifts some smaller stones and they circle around it. Lt. Alexandra tosses (telekinetically) a stone toward Tephna's head, but Tephna can't handle it too, and dodges the rock and drops everything else.
 +
+Lt. Alexandra asks if she can read thoughts. She answers, yes, hesitantly. She can feel Alexandra sending a burning sensation into her head. Tephna tries to push it back. She does, Lt. Alexandra is taken aback. She asks, "So that's your specialty?". Alexandra asks if she can read thoughts at a distance, Tephna says yes.
 +
+Lt. Alexandra asks if she knows anything about her friend's (Hana'rah's) ability. Tephna explains that she knows Hana'rah can do some things, but isn't sure what.
 +
+Lt. Alexandra flies down the hill to where Hana'rah is sitting with her squad. She lands behind Hana'rah. Hana'rah turns and sees her and sends off her troops. Alexandra sits across from Hana'rah and speaks to her telepathically. She asks her about her abilities. Hana’rah replies, vocally, “I don’t know what you’re talking about”.
 +
+Alexandra continues to telepathically ask Hana’rah about her abilities. Hana’rah continues to be cagey, only responding verbally. Alexandra telekinetically raises a stick off the ground. She tells Hana’rah to do something similar. Hana’rah causes a pebble to fly from the ground and hit Duron Mar in the butt. He spins around angrily, sees the lieutenant, and turns back around embarrassed.
 +
+Alexandra asks Hana’rah who trained her. Hana’rah replies that she has no formal training. Alexandra probes Hana’rah’s mind a little, then asks, “You learned from books?”. Hana’rah doesn’t reply. Alexandra asks if moving objects is her specialty. Hana’rah replies that she’s better at moving people’s thoughts.
 +
 +
 +
 +
 +
+Lt. Alexandra goes over to Caidis. She talks to him about Fetterov. Caidis thinks he can be useful to the platoon, carrying things or whatever. Alexandra probes to see if maybe Caidis accidentally willed Fetterov to violence. Caidis is sure he didn't. Caidis wants another chance to redeem Fetterov's soul.
 +
+As she walks away, she asks when he prays over them, when he's raising them from the dead, if he can hear his god speak. Caidis replies that he thinks anyone that can hear their gods talk is crazy.
