Acid Bow
This long bow contains a powerful enchantment that is capable of inflicting severe damage on a opponent or objects. All the bow user has to do is fire a normal arrow to attack the opponent and it will transform into a magical arrow as it leaves the bow. This magical arrow is just like the melf's acid arrow spell in regards to damage calculation, so the bow's arrow does 2d4 points of acid damage (with saving throws for items on the target each acid round) plus additional …: AD&D 2nd Edition magic items from the Fidonet Compendiumplugin-autotooltip__default plugin-autotooltip_bigThe FidoNet AD&D Compendium Version 2.1
The Great FidoNet Compendium 2.0 was published to the AD&D FidoNet group on January 22nd, 1997. It was adapted to the internet as Version 2.1 on August 21, 2011. Last updated July 29, 2014.
Introduction
The previous version of this compendium was released close to fifteen years ago. With FidoNet long gone, and plain text out of style, I figured it was time to reformat this thing for the internet. This version includes seven spell submissions that didn'….
Big List of Mundane Itemsplugin-autotooltip__default plugin-autotooltip_bigBig List of Mundane Items
>From: elder@bullet.ecf (ELDER J David) Subject: Item lists Originator: elder@bullet.ecf.toronto.edu
This list was posted to a mailing list that I used to follow. It covers costs and weights for a variety of common items. Although the terminology is reminiscent of AD&D I feel it could be used in any fantasy environment with only a small amount of conversion. I have found it useful for stocking stores and generally for the concept of product availability. Recently…

From rec.games.frp.dnd
The items listed were taken from the 1st ed. Players Handbook, 2nd ed. PH, Aurora's Whole Realms Catalogue, Al-Qadim (by TSR). Some items were left out such as greek fire oil, others were added by me. These items are a general list of things you can buy in a city. Prices and items may vary as to availablity and workmanship.
These are mundane items, not magical. For magical items you must find a specialty shop or have them made by…

Historical Coinageplugin-autotooltip__default plugin-autotooltip_bigHistorical Coinage
2/8/01 From bradds@concentric.net (Bradd W. Szonye):
Historically, most coins were made of silver until the very late middle ages and early renaissance. Gold coins were more common in Italy and the Byzantine empire, but trying to maintain currency in two different metals (gold and silver) was a frequent cause of economic trouble, because of the fluctuation of relative values. Following is some information on historic coins and values that you may be able to use in your game.…

Currency Descriptionsplugin-autotooltip__default plugin-autotooltip_bigCurrency Descriptions
In most campaigns, players don't care what their coins look or feel like, but with a little investment in work, you can add that touch of extra realism. Here are the coins used in my Zioth campaign.
Rang Currency
The Aglar
Rang's economy is based on barter and silver, the later dominating commercial activity in towns and cities. The silver Aglar (ă'glǒr) has been minted since the early days of: A sample on how to describe coins better than “gold, silver and copper piece,” from my Zioth campaignplugin-autotooltip__default plugin-autotooltip_bigThe Coming of the Zioth
Welcome to a world that has nineteen years left to live. In nineteen years, on the one thousand twentieth year of the Zioth, all five moons will leave the sky for a night, and the world will be destroyed and rebuilt. But who can believe such stories in a world at its prime? Everything is normal. The strange creatures of legend are nowhere to be seen, and magic? A story to put children to sleep..
