Korisca would be a beautiful woman if she bathed regularly. Most of the time, her face is soot-covered and her hands are grimy. Her blue eyes stand out as the only colorful feature of her face. Her blond hair is full of dirt and ragged, and is never combed neatly. Even after bathing, which never cleans her completely, she seems to draw the dirt back onto her skin within hours. Korisca is slim and light-footed. She wears a good cloak and breaches, soft boots and a vest. Two knife sheathes hang close to her waist.
Korisca is five foot five and weighs 139 pounds. Korisca is tone-deaf (54), making her a bit of an outcast in her home town of Maelbourgplugin-autotooltip__default plugin-autotooltip_bigMaelbourg
[This map is obviously missing a lot. There aren't huge open spaces in Maelbourg.]
Maelbourg is a walled town in the Barony of Huerten, with a population of approximately six thousand. Its primary exports are textiles, wool and coal, the last of which it acquires from deposits in the nearby hills. The land on which the town sits was added to maelbourg index.
Appeared in turns 24-55, 57-63, 72-74, 90 and 128-present.
Korisca, who grew up as a common thief, is currently going by the name Leera in an attempt to take political power in Maelbourgplugin-autotooltip__default plugin-autotooltip_bigMaelbourg

A lot of what's below has changed during the course of the game. Korisca was played by three seperate players before she became a permanent NPC.
Korisca has a hard time making friends, especially male, due to her violent past (explained later). It takes her awhile to trust someone. She tends to stay alone and likes to work alone. If confronted by strangers she will run.
Korisca past is constantly in contest with her present. She cannot forget what happened to her and fits that in with what goes on now.
Korisca's father was a harsh man, usually beating Korisca and her brothers and sisters when they did anything wrong. He also molested the girls and had the boys help him (they didn't want to, but they also didn't want to be beaten). There mother could not help them because she was dead, a victim of their fathers severe beatings.
When Korisca was 17 and all her siblings were over 15, they got together and turned on their father, eventually killing him. After the deed was done, they all ran off and lost one another.
Korisca, having no source of income, began to work as a barmaid, but working with all the men who constantly told her how pretty she was (as well as some other things…) reminded her of her father and she ran off once again.
Her only option left was the life of a thief.
It has now been 6 years since the murder of her father and her turn to the life of a criminal. She is starting to regain her confidence and wants to atone for the sins she has committed.
She turned to thievery because she had no other choice. Her conscience wouldn't let her do anything but become a thief which she still had trouble with. She feels that she has to atone because she was once innocent and good and was forced into the life of a thief and now that she is regaining her confidence she feels she could become more, or at least use her skills for a better cause.
She has no memory of her parents. (I know that contradicts her earlier story of having an abusive father, but I like this better.) Her earliest memory is of hunting a rat through alleyways for food. She was alone until she was ten.
She was taken in by a troupe of traveling actors when she as about ten. (She doesn't know her exact age) She lived and worked with them. The manager took her in, but the rest of the troupe were resent ful. Another mouth to feed was not welcome. So she took to bringing home money that she picked up on foraging trips in each town they visted. Nobody asked her where she got it, and she was grudgingly accepted. One day, when she was about seventeen, she realized that she could get more if she went through a crowd. As she had a ready made crowd at the show that night, she stole from them. When the whole crowd realized that they had been relived of their purses at the show, they went after the troupe. They barely escaped from the mob, and ostracized Korsica as a result. She has been wandering alone ever since.
I'm just letting you know that part of Korisca's personality is that she is a compulsive liar, leftover from when she didn't trust many people. She has tried desperatly to stop, but it seems this bad habit has really stuck itself onto her. The reason I'm saying this over E-mail instead of the echo is that I didn't know if the other players should know. I mean, eventually they will find out, but until then I wanted them to figure out what was going on (“What? In Eli's post to you it said the item WAS in the castle. Now your telling us it's in the town?) Actually, the compulsive lieing only kicks in when she's afraid, like when a big, burly man is shouting at her to tell him something.
From turn 54: She's somewhat tone-deaf.
