Sahlmanplugin-autotooltip__default plugin-autotooltip_bigSahlman El Musafir

Sahlman's hair is blue-black and graying. His skin is dark and weathered. A huge handle-bar mustache sweeps down to cover much of his lower face, and Sahl is always careful to keep it properly groomed. He is generally very particular about his clothing, equipment and appearance. Sahlman wears the desert robes of his homeland, with headgear that blocks out the sun and hangs over his neck. is collectively ruled by forty or so townsmen. These include guildmasters, the extremely wealthy, and others who wield power for one reason or another. The townsmen meet annually to discuss matters of common interest. Meetings can also be called by any group of three townsmen or thirty journeymen, but the townsmen don't particularly like to gather.144plugin-autotooltip__default plugin-autotooltip_bigAppeared or occurred in:

: Gathering Support

The day got worse and worse for Ziedon. The volume of the chant became louder, until at times it was almost impossible to concentrate. It would then soften, but never as much as the last time. Ziedon felt he was running out of time to deal with this problem, and given how the last fight with the priests went, he would probably need help, and a good plan. He had just decided that, when the chanting reached a crescendo more powerful than any before it.

Six townsmen have the greatest influence by far. Rather than voting independently, most minor townsmen side with one of these six.

Townsman Reden Orfortplugin-autotooltip__default plugin-autotooltip_bigTownsman Reden Orfort

Description

Reden Orfort is a man of slightly above average height, with dark brown hair. While not fat, he appears soft, and tires easily. He is prone to wearing finery of an almost ridiculous style and expense, and keeps an entire team of seamstresses at his beck and call. He has not appeared in the turns.

Townsman Raiborderplugin-autotooltip__default plugin-autotooltip_bigTownsman Raiborder

Description

Kraub Raiborder is taller than most. His body is skeletally thin, and he is prone to poor health and ill humors. His hair is black and he has lost several teeth in one of his bouts of disease, leaving him with a gaptoothed visage. He tries very hard not to smile or otherwise show his teeth as a result.

Townsman Jorran Kalplugin-autotooltip__default plugin-autotooltip_bigTownsman Jorran Kal

Description

Jorran Kal is a dark-haired man of non-descript appearance. Unlike the other powerful townsmen, he dresses in a humble style and seldom makes public appearances.

Biography

Jorran Kal keeps to himself, so almost none of the population has heard of him. However, he controls a good share of the town guard, and in times of peace, he has a lot of influence over taxation and other monetary decisions in town meetings

Kreemon left Korisca at the bathhouse and took a short walk back to the marketplace. The market was not crowded, but it was not empty either. There were many people about, entering and leaving shops, examining the few booths that lined the main road, or just standing and talking to friends. A group of children was playing a game Kreemon did not recognize. Every time a horseman, those few that there were, came by, the children grabbed a few dozen trinkets from the road and ran to the side.

Townsman Jackol Worsenplugin-autotooltip__default plugin-autotooltip_bigTownsman Jackol Worsen

Description

Worsen is tall and gaunt. He shaves his pate bald to hide his awkwardly thinning hair, and has dark grey eyes. He has a deep scar on his neck and chest due to an old accident at the forge. Generally, he keeps it covered up. Despite a somewhat unusual appearance, his sonorous voice and friendly manner have enamored him to many of the common people of

Guildmaster Cewethirplugin-autotooltip__default plugin-autotooltip_bigGuildmaster Cewethir

Description

Cewethir is a medium sized man with a shaved head and deep blue eyes. His hair is actually very light brown, sun-bleached almost blond, and quite ample if he were to let it grow, but he has long since given up trying to keep the coal dust out of his hair and finds it easier to shear it off. His body is lean but muscular, and his position as guildmaster has not softened the strength he built in the mines.

Guildmaster Aso Miscemplugin-autotooltip__default plugin-autotooltip_bigGuildmaster Aso Miscem

Description

Guildmaster Gerrit Argolplugin-autotooltip__default plugin-autotooltip_bigGuildmaster Gerrit Argol

Description

Argol is a spindly, pot-bellied man in his sixties, with dark brown hair that is rapidly fading into a dingy grey. A horse riding accident in his youth broke several of his front teeth, giving him a crooked and odd-looking smile. Because of this oddity, and his profession, he has been nicknamed

Trademaster Eiselon Makierreiplugin-autotooltip__default plugin-autotooltip_bigTrademaster Eiselon Makierrei

Description

Makierrei is a short man, about five two, potbellied and of medium build. His arms hang out a bit, as if he were a much heavier man than he actually is. He is balding and wears a moustache, which parallels heavy eyebrows. Almost comical when described, he is disappointingly ordinary in person.

Guildmaster Hewlardplugin-autotooltip__default plugin-autotooltip_bigGuildmaster Hewlard

Description

Hewlard was never described.

Biography

Hewlard has little military power, but he is a charismatic man, and his abilities as an orator made him better known to the people during the conflict between Galgewe and Silnquost. He was quite effective in convincing

Guildmistress Velirra Dufowlplugin-autotooltip__default plugin-autotooltip_bigGuildmistress Velirra Dufowl

Description

Ziedon was announced, and Velirra arrived, dressed in an efficient gown whose simplicity clashed with the gaudy colors of the room. She was tall enough that, with her shoes, she saw eye to eye with Ziedon, and her shoulder-length hair enveloped a round, healthy and surprisingly young face. She could not have been older than twenty-five. That youthful face currently wore a look of disappointment.

Townsman Batarelplugin-autotooltip__default plugin-autotooltip_bigTownsman Batarel

Description

Ol' butterball was a slightly chubby man in his sixties whose fleshy face made him look much fatter than he was. It didn't help that his overworked horse seemed to sink in its middle, or that his drooping eyes made every word and movement look slow and tired.

Townsman Leve Herelgplugin-autotooltip__default plugin-autotooltip_bigTownsman Leve Herelg

Description

Herelg is a man of moderate height and lean frame. His hair is black but sparse and largely confined to the sides of his head. His right ear is misshapen (a deformity from birth) and he has a scar that runs over the left eye from a fencing mishap in his youth. While the eye still works, its color changed and gained a permanent cloudy red coloration that some find unnerving.

Guildmaster Age Lubenplugin-autotooltip__default plugin-autotooltip_bigGuildmaster Age Luben

Description

Age Luben is about average height, but appears a good deal shorter because of a perpetual stoop and the beginnings of a slight hunch. This is an occupational hazard common to cobblers, due to their need to spend a large part of the day nearly bent double. The hair on the crown of his head is all but gone, leaving only a short salt and pepper stubble upon the edges of his head. His eyes are dark brown and watery. He tends to blink excessively in bright light.
