Andrithanism and its variants are the dominant religion in Rang and the surrounding kingdoms. Within the boundaries of needs to have an understanding of what sort of forces we are dealing with here. Did you not hear the description of the 'witch burning'? The unnatural behavior, and the fact that the Healer mentioned it as a 'time much forgotten'? Can you not see the connection to what we are investigating at this moment? Right now, the Healer is our most powerful ally, and he lies in ignorance of that which we have seen which could shed some light on these matters! We will need every resource we have to tackle this evil!
“Besides, visiting Constable Hernholtz will solve nothing and only expose us to unnecessary risk from _his_ attention. Pawn of our adversary or fool, he will not cooperate… and confronting him will raise his ire, and _need_ I remind you that as constable he has the guards of this town under his command? And need I _also_ remind you that interfering with the legal authorities is sufficient grounds for them to execute their will upon us? I assure you, if we confront William Hernholz at this time the _best_ we can hope for is imprisonment. Can't you _see_? _Why_ can't you see…? Right now we're the only hope for justice to be served in this matter and we're ready to march off to be removed as a factor before we even know who our true enemy _is_…” Johannesplugin-autotooltip__default plugin-autotooltip_bigMaster Johannes Eltermann

Kreemon covered his mouth as he yawned, “Are you finished? Good. Now you _listen_.” With a wave of a hand at the Healer, which he did not seem to appreciate, Kreemon said, “He has lived here his entire long life. You don't think he knows about the ruins? If you did not notice, they were ruins, it is obvious that no one has been there for hundreds of years. You cannot make out the forest because of all of the trees.”
Kreemon continued, “Just because there is an old temple ruin, which has been around for centuries, doesn't mean it has anything to do with these murders. What, do you think the old ghost of Mayra Rotterlac has returned to wreak havoc in vengeance? That she is biding her time in the ruins, foraging out in the _daylight_ to slaughter? As for justice, what do you know about justice, scribe? You have lived your life behind sheltered walls engrossed in antiquated books that serve you to no purpose. You have no clue about justice, nor about the world you live in. You see a dead body that is frozen solid and you talk of poisons.”
Kreemon indicated the body on the table. “I don't really care about this carcass. Everyone suffers the little death. He probably deserved it,” Kreemon slammed a clenched fist onto the palm of his other hand, “but by the Four, I do care about Moren. He knew his turn at the Wheel was coming to an end and that intrigues me.”

The Common View
Zahira is seen as a dangerous cult that welcomes the Zioth and embraces death. It is led by mysterious druid-like entities known as “True Zahirans.” There is quite a bit of legend surrounding these druids, such as their ability to appear out of nowhere, or the fact that they all look alike., but he was too worked up at the moment to make anything of the connection.

You say he probably knows of these ruins, which engender forgetfulness? Check your logic. I do not claim that it is any ghost or ghoul behind these murders, but there _are_ unnatural forces at work there and that tale bears the mark of the same evidence we have seen in our own case! You speak of my not seeing the forest for the trees, but I say that your blindness is inexcusable. And as for not knowing of justice, and for knowing nothing of the world… you can crawl on your belly in the mud, and call the ditch you wallow in the expanse of Aerv, but I tell you that there is more understanding to be had. If you confront the constable now, you will be imprisoned, and you may well be executed, and you will serve no purpose in doing so. You neglect that information which is to be gained, that information which will allow a plan that will accomplish that which we wish it to.
